    1. I like your ideas of being a good leader. What stands out to me is patience because leaders deal with a lot of people. Not just that, but their aims for the betterment of the people, society, economy, and etc. doesn't happen just like that. A leader needs patience because at first, things are difficult before they can become easy.

    2. I like the ideas you have presented. The one that I also have is patience. I is very important to be patient, especially if you are working with others because everyone is different and there is no way to know the outcome of a situation. Having the patience to deal with all of it is very important.

    3. Thank you both. I also share the same ideas about patience.

    4. I like your ideas, but can you elaborate on why being able to speak with emotion would make a good leader?

    5. I agree that a leader should show emotion when speaking because if not the people or followers are not feeling his energy or how sincere he is.

    6. I agree with you Diana about a leader needing to have patience. That's a good characteristic.

Jorelle shouldn't you need to show emotion because then if you don't it seems like you don't care at all?

    1. I agree about the ability to admit to own mistakes because w/out this characteristic, respect is lost.

    2. What do you mean by "earned power"? Don't you need like a skill or virtue to earn power?

      Delete
    3. When i say earned power, i mean that you need to EARN power as a leader and not cheat your way into. It comes with being a good leader because if the leader has earned his/her power, then his followers will give him trust. I don't know if that explains it. I'm stil thinking of a better way to explain it.

    4. I agree that flexibility should be a great virtue for a leader. After all, who wouldn't want to see Obama do cartwheels and yoga after a speech?

    5. I agree that a leader should have an open mind

    3. I agree with you that a good leader should have patience.

    4. I'm not sure if I agree with a leader having to be friends with everyone, otherwise he or she would just be people-pleaser or yes-man, and not everyone has the same stance on certain controversies, so I would think a leader should lead with principle and morals whether or not everyone agrees with it and wants to be his friend.

    5. I agree that a leader must be a great teacher because he is like teaching a class.

    6. Monica: I mean they need to "think outside the box". They need o have a broad imagination so that solutions to problems are not limited to 1 or 2 ideas.

Jorelle: I did not mean to be friends to please everyone, but in a way, so that the leader knows everyone individually and personally, and knows that certain person's perpective. Especially those that are opposing his ways. A leader is not supposed to force people to learn principles and morals, but persuade them to learn it themselves. For example, Mr. G can only persuade us to learn, but he cannot force us to actually learn everything. I think he has a pretty good understanding of each of his student's perspectives. This way a leader knows how to help his followers.

    1. I like the skills you have come up with Soledad. However, I wonder what you mean by "ruling with emotions". Do you mean being emotional for those that the leader is leading or...?

    2. Amairaini, I think that she is saying a leader should NOT lead with emotions.

I also have a question... What to you mean by quick thinker? Does the leader have to be able to understand everything quickly? or to know what to do very fast... Could you please clear that up?

    4. Now, i know what integrity means. Thanks. I had to look it up though. I think SOMETIMES, in certain cases, you need to rule with emotion. For example, in Antigone, she spoke or she put emotion in her words to get her sister's attention and in hopes of joining her side, except that she isn't ruling, but I'm curious to know what your explanation when you say to not rule with emotions.

    5. Yes Diana that is what I meant. It refers to how Commodus lead. Also, what I meant about being a quick thinker is that a leader should be able to come up w/ a back up plan when necessary.

    6. I agree with monica, that in some cases you do need to rule with emotions, but not let your emotions take over you.
